Scarcity Manufacturer
The Scarcity Manufacturer deploys the oldest trick in marketing: artificial urgency and false exclusivity. 'Only 12 spots left.' 'Closing enrollment tomorrow.' 'DM me for access (won't be available publicly).' These claims are almost never verifiable and are designed to bypass rational evaluation by creating FOMO. It's the digital equivalent of a late-night infomercial's 'Call in the next 15 minutes!'
HOW TO SPOT THIS
- Specific but unverifiable limited quantities: 'Only X spots left'
- Arbitrary deadlines: 'Closing tomorrow' (it never closes)
- DM-gating: forcing private conversation to create perceived exclusivity
- Inner circle / VIP framing for regular paid products
- Countdown timers, urgency language, and FOMO triggers
